What's in the Reading MasterClass

Learning How to Learn 📚

Reading is a skill. To develop any new skill, you need to know how to learn effectively. We teach you the most important principles of skill acquisition and habit formation, so that you can focus on what really matters.

The Fundamentals 🏠

We cover the fundamentals of reading. We are creating a foundation so you can make reading a habit for life.

Tools and Techniques 🛠

We teach you trusted techniques to read as efficiently as possible. You will learn how to understand more, expand your vocabulary, and improve your pronunciation at the same time.

Leveling Up 📈

After you are comfortable with the fundamentals of learning and habit formation, it's time to focus on more advanced strategies to read more, learn faster, and speak more fluently.

Reading is Better Together 🤝

We cover the importance of review and community. At the end of the day, reading is only useful if you know how to remember what you read. And we have some surprise guest with family and friends, because reading is better together.

Reading for life 🙌

In the fourth section, we focus on cultivating your reading habit. By the end of the course, you will have all of the tools and resources you need to easily create a lifelong reading habit.

Experimentation 🔬

Not everyone is the same. We all learn in different ways and we are interested in different things. We teach you how to find the perfect resources and routines to be a reading master.

We are in this together 👯‍♀️

Alexia

Alexia will be participating in the Reading MasterClass as a student and your cobaia. She will be with you every step of the way!

Foster

Foster will be your guide in this MasterClass. With more than 10 years of experience teaching Brazilians, he know's what he's doing (most of the time).
"Comprei o Book club há três semanas. Definitivamente é um ótimo trabalho, vocês estão de parabéns! O método tem me ajudado muito, pois sou estudante de filosofia da UFRJ, e graças ao curso tenho conseguido aperfeiçoar a leitura dos textos do "The Cambridge Companion" com mais facilidade e eficiência. Cheguei à seção de vocabulário recentemente e adorei a "The rule of three!"

Learn from an expert

Hi, I'm Foster 👋

I'm an English teacher, podcaster, and a bookworm 🤓

You are probably wondering,
"Why should I learn from this guy?"

It's a great question. I ask myself the same thing sometimes.

But there are a few reasons why I think I am one of the best people to teach this MasterClass.

I'm a bookworm. I like to read. A lot. Novels and non-fiction, autobiographies and audiobooks. It doesn't really matter, I just love reading.

In the past 3 years, I've read more than 300 books. And I've also taught English to millions of Brazilians...it's still crazy to say that!

Long story short, if you want to learn how to read from an expert, I think I'm a pretty good choice 🙋🏻‍♂️

Wait, there's more? 😮

Steven Kotler, Author of "The Art of Impossible"

What’s inside

Here is an overview of what you will learn 👇

Learning How to Learn

In the first module of the Reading MasterClass, we are exploring the topic of meta-learning.

Essentially, meta-learning is the art of learning how to learn. I know that sounds complicated, but we will explain everything in a simple way. 🙂

Meta-learning will really help you understand which ways you learn best, how to overcome common obstacles, and most importantly, how to cultivate a lifelong reading habit.

Happy Learning!

Reading is Better Together 🤝

In this section, we talk about the importance of reading in community, because at the end of the day, reading is better together.

After that, we have some special guest appearances!

Alexia joins us to talk about the new book she is reading. My mom makes her first audio appearance ever! And my brother stops by to talk about why reading is one of the most important activities in his life and gives some recommendations.

Just a disclaimer, my family is from South Carolina, so most of my family has a pretty strong Southern accent. Maybe it will take you a few times to really start understanding them, but I think you will begin to love the southern accent as much as I do ❤️

And for some reason, a lot of our students say that my brother has a really sexy voice. I'm not sure what is sexy about it, but if that is your thing then you can use it for extra motivation! 😂
