In week 3, we focus on how to read effectively in Portuguese. Reading can be your superpower when learning a new language. If you know how to do it...We share some of our favorite approaches, recommendations and resources to level up your reading in Portuguese.

Week 4: Pronunciation 👅

Let’s face it, Brazilian Portuguese pronunciation is hard. We take a deep dive into some of the most difficult sounds in Portuguese, so you can confidently have conversations with Brazilians.

Repetition Audios

This is a new feature we are really excited about. Based on spaced repetition, we’ve created loads of new audios to build the necessary muscle memory to speak Portuguese fluently.

In addition to useful vocabulary and expressions, we expose you to a variety of different accents. With Alexia’s strong carioca accent, Felipe’s paulista dialect, and Marco’s neutral Portuguese, your listening comprehension will dramatically improve.

"There really aren't many other apps or podcasts out there that will help you as much as Carioca Connection. It is a pleasure listening to and learn not only the language but also about the culture and history of Brazil. It never gets dull, they always cover interesting topics. Which is kind of important when you as a language learner have to listen to it over and over again ;-)

I highly recommend buying the pdfs they offer on their website. If you are like me and have difficulties in the beginning understanding spoken Portuguese, the pdfs will help you tremendously connecting the visual with the spoken word in your brain.

Another plus of this podcast is that it is entirely in Portuguese. As I said above, you need to know the basics of the language. But together with the PDF's you don't "waste" time on listening to the English translation and make your learning time much more efficient.

I had a private teacher twice a week for over three years. While this certainly helped me to learn the basics of the language, the effect of this podcast in regards to my listening comprehension is incredible.

Sure, you have to be dedicated and listen to the episodes over and over again, but you will notice after a while that you will be able to comprehend Portuguese much better.

Yes, you can! Our products include zip files with all the worksheets an audios, so you can study whenever and wherever you want.

How is Season 6 - Fundamentals different from other seasons?

Season 6 is very similar to our previous seasons, just with some extra bonuses and cool new resources. In addition to the conversations and worksheets, we've added tons of repetition exercises and more structure to improve your learning experience.

What are the weekly workshops?

The weekly workshops are another new feature we are really excited about. Each week (for the first four weeks), Alexia, Foster and Felipe will host a live workshop to discuss the material addressed in the course. These workshops are designed to be participatory, so you can train your Portuguese while having fun at the same time. Note: If you can't make it to the live workshops, no worries! All of the workshops will be recorded so you can watch and listen later. The workshops are only available to our early bird supporters.

What are the weekly Q&A's?

Once a week, Alexia and Foster will take all of your questions and record audios just for you. You can ask questions about Portuguese, Brazil, travel, dogs, whatever is on your mind! The weekly Q&A's are only reserved for our early bird students.

What if I'm not happy with my purchase?

We are proud of our work and are confident that our resources will really help your Portuguese. If you're not happy within the first week, just let us know and we'll refund your money, no questions asked.

Can I have private classes with Alexia?

Alexia receives a lot of requests for private classes, so her schedule is pretty tight. However, we are giving all of our Season 6 students an opportunity to schedule a discounted class with Alexia 🙂
